the union pacific railroad owns and operates bailey yard, the largest railroad classification yard in the world. It is located in north platte, ne. and said to be the economic barometer of the united states given the multitde of products that enter and exit the yard daily. this print series was a response to this statement. through analyzing the classification of trains according to their cargo, and the sheer volume of trains that pass through emerges a glorified pie chart alluding to our nation’s priorities.
